Harry Kane added another record to his name as Bayern Munich made a winning return following the German winter break.
The 30-year-old has made a blistering start to his Bundesliga career – scoring 22 goals with the striker on course to break Robert Lewandowski’s single season record.
And he was on the score sheet yet again in the 3-0 victory over Hoffenheim at the Allianz Arena – equalling the Poland star’s feat from the 2020/21 campaign in the process.
Lewandowski, who banged in an unprecedented 41 top-flight goals that term, had 22 strikes to his name after the first half of the Bundesliga season.
And Kane has now matched that tally in a sign that he could now break his record.
But he left it late to grab his customary goal, as he slotted home in the 90th minute after being played through by Leon Goretzka
He flashed his strike into the bottom right corner, with his effort too powerful for goalkeeper Oliver Baumann.
In what has been a season of records for Kane so far, he become the first player to register a hat-trick in their first Der Klassiker outing.
The England skipper also set a new German top-flight record by finding the back of the net 17 times in his opening 11 outings.
It was a night of records in Bavaria, with legendary goalkeeper Manuel Neuer making his 500th appearance for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
